Important Notice When Making Payment
Please read and understand these terms carefully before making a payment. This ensures transparency and a smooth transaction process on the MyHome platform.
Preliminary Quote Acknowledgement
1. The initial quote from Contractors is a non-binding estimate based on your service description. The final cost, subject to the FINAL quote and agreement between you and the Contractor, may vary from the preliminary quote. ALL agreements must be honestly disclosed and uploaded to the Platform.
2. Upon agreeing to an initial quote by all parties, the Customer is required to pay the quoted amount to the Platform FIRST. This payment is considered a preliminary amount, subject to adjustments based on the final quote as follows:
1) Supplemental Payment: If the final quote exceeds the initial quote, the Customer is obliged to pay the difference, thereby meeting the final quote cost.
2) Refund for Overpayment: In the event that the final quote is less than the initial quote, the Platform will refund the excess amount paid by the Customer.
3) On-site Evaluation Fee Deduction: If an on-site evaluation fee is required and charged by the Contractor, and the Customer does not proceed with the service agreement following the evaluation, the Platform will refund the initial quote amount to the Customer minus the on-site evaluation fee ($75).
4) Full Refund: If the Contractor does not require an on-site evaluation fee and the Customer decides not to proceed with the service agreement, the Customer is entitled to a full refund of the initial quote amount.
Customer Charge Policy
3. The Contractor may pre-determine on the Platform whether to charge the Customer on-site evaluation based on a specific service OR NOT. If charging the fee, the Contractor must clearly display on the Platform beforehand.
4. Should the Contractor decide to charge for an on-site evaluation, a fee of $75 will be imposed on the Customer. This fee is charged ONLY in circumstances where, following the on-site evaluation, a service agreement between the Customer and the Contractor is NOT subsequently entered into.
5. In the event that a service agreement is entered following the evaluation, the on-site evaluation fee will be waived, and no such fee shall be charged to the Customer.
Refund Policy
6. Refund for Overpayment: If the final quote for the service is less than the initial quote, the Platform will refund the excess amount to the Customer.
7. On-site Evaluation Fee Deduction: In cases where an on-site evaluation fee is required and has been charged by the Contractor, and the Customer subsequently decides NOT to proceed with the service agreement post-evaluation, the Platform will issue a refund of the initial quote amount minus the on-site evaluation fee ($75).
8. Full Refund: If the Contractor does not require an on-site evaluation fee and the Customer opts NOT to enter into a service agreement following the initial quote, the Customer is entitled to a full refund of the initial quote amount.
Payment Method Requirements
9. To use MyHome, you must have a valid payment method on file, governed by our Stored Payment Terms and Conditions. All sales and fees are final and non-refundable, except as stated in our Refund Policy.
Penalty Fees Notice
10. MyHome may impose penalty fees for violations like private or cash deals that bypass the Platform, fraud, or misconduct. Details on these fees are available in our help center.
Payment Collection and Remittance
11. Payments for services are first collected by MyHome and then remitted to Contractors bi-weekly, minus applicable fees and deductions. Disputes or non-confirmations affect this timeline and payment release.
Marketplace Payments via Third-Party Platform
12. Payments between Customers and Contractors are facilitated through a third-party payment platform, THIRD PARTY PAYMENT PLATFORM NAME. MyHome acts as an agent for these transactions but is not a direct party to the Marketplace Payments or services rendered.
Role and Liability of MyHome
13. MyHome operates solely as a marketplace and is not liable for the Contractor Services provided, except as outlined in the MyHome Guarantee. Contractors receiving payments agree to comply with the third-party payment platform's terms.
Customer's Payment Obligations
14. As a Customer, you agree to timely payments using your chosen method, adhering to our Stored Payment Terms and Conditions. Ensure your payment information is accurate and secure.
Dispute and Debt Recovery:
15. In case of payment disputes or delinquent accounts, MyHome reserves the right to employ various recovery methods, including legal action. Communication regarding overdue payments may be conducted electronically or via phone.
